A Precipice Call

McKnightEnterprises.org

God referred to Saul as being ‘goodly’ because He saw what others couldn’t see. Even Saul’s friends didn’t think he was qualified to be promoted to a kingly position, so they rejected him. What they didn’t understand was that Saul didn’t have any input about being invited to the high place. He had been apprehended by God. This undiscerned ascension required him to change into a new man … whether he wanted to or not. A precipice call had been made to Saul.

The definition of a precipice is a very steep or overhanging place, a situation of great peril, risk, danger, or threat. A precipice call is a fearful place to be. It requires you to put your life on the line. This call caused King Saul to struggle with the words ‘change’ and ‘conform’ right up to his death.

King Saul had many haters. They could hardly wait for him to fail so they could say, “You were not the one assigned to be king anyway.” That is why King Saul’s previous associates were not capable of helping him get to his destination. His promotion caused a separation, naturally and spiritually, between him and his friends. They became unequally yoked.

A precipice moment is a life-altering moment where you are called to shift to another level. It is a place where you are watching everything under you being left behind, while God takes you to a higher calling and you are left suspended and dangling in space. He is waiting for you to ‘choose this day who you will serve.’ When you say yes, God lowers you back down to earth to walk it out.

Don’t let anything or anyone confuse you about the call of God that is on your life. No matter what people are saying, stay in position. Will you answer the call?
