What are you building? An Empire or a Pyramid?
A pyramid is a selfish idol and not for the people … it is only about the head. Think about those pyramid business ventures … whoever is at the top is supported by everything underneath. The head must be fed, whether by words of affirmation or by information so they sit above any other heads. Sometimes the outer package is inviting, but the inner is corrupt. This happens in business and relationships too. One can be used and deceived into believing they are part of the product but they are not. They were only part of the production. Hence human trafficking.
When the head of a corporation, movement, church, or any organized structure is insecure or feels threatened, they are like Pharaoh in the Bible. When he saw the Hebrews growing too fast, he slowed them down by enslaving them. Slavery comes to keep you boxed in, controlled, and to keep you from increasing on your own. For the Hebrew slaves, this only made them stronger, more resilient, and able to bear more. Pharaoh put hard taskmasters over them, making the people work harder. Hard labor eats away your talents, ideas, thoughts. Laboring hard for someone else takes away your time from developing your own dreams. One can be enticed to be a part of something great, only to find out later that it all flowed up and all credit went to the head. This spirit devours your future to make it look great. You will be too tired to work on your own image. Only the pharaoh’s face or image will be on the pyramid.
We have to watch for and discern the heart of the pyramids of power. Pyramids are beautiful to behold but a lot of work. Many have died in building these wonders of the world.
When building your Empire be sure it is under God's Head and Authority. He told us to take dominion over the things of the earth, not people. Be sure your government is upon His shoulders. Remember, all power is under God.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
