Her children arise and call her blessed. (Proverbs 31:28)
Mothers are God’s number one assistants. Women were created to be a help-meet for the man. After God said man was good, He said, “Oh! let’s make a wombed man to assist with mankind on earth.” Hence came Momma!
In Bible days, you could not disrespect your mother. God told us to honor thy Mother. Mothers are the only ones who can say I gave life to you and I'll take it back! God backs her too. He gave her authority and we are to honor that. Like it or not … God tells us to honor our mothers. Oh, I hear you … honor and respect are two different things. I’m aware that a child’s story of their mother isn't necessarily a good one, but learn from what you saw of your mother’s mistakes and do better, be better.
Bathsheba taught Proverbs to her son, Solomon, because she wanted him to know what to look for in a woman:
Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. (Proverbs 31:30)
