We have learned from past and present heroes, that leaders have flaws. The times of failure were because of the wrong choices that were made. When the Law of ‘Cause and Effect’ kicks in, everything connected to the decision is affected. Following a leader can be a tricky thing because they can start well and end up in trouble. That is why we are to follow them as they follow Christ. The best examples we can learn from are the men and women God honored in the Bible.
As we read the Word of God concerning the call to leadership, we must deal with the ‘little foxes’ immediately. One thing that turns ‘little foxes’ into ‘big wolves’ is not being disciplined … doing their own thing. Power in the wrong hands is dangerous. God will step in to chasten and correct those He loves to restore order. (Hebrew 12:6)
Daniel was taught how to be disciplined through his upbringing. His call was represented with a spiritual mantle the Father rested on his life, with the governmental authority to rule. Daniel's life testifies to his tenacity and impeccable integrity that was without spot, wrinkle, or blemish. (Daniel 1)
We need a disciplined leader right about now!! Discipline is needed to develop the type of leader God needs to build His kingdom.
