After many years of living my life as a Christian, I understand what it is to be both a student and a teacher. In both of these positions, I have had to be vulnerable and not be ashamed to make mistakes or let others see them. Of course, I like being the teacher better, but I still love being a student, too. Either way, it is important that while we are learning that we acknowledge the truth.
The Bible tells us that there are some who are, “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”(2 Timothy 3:7) I hope this Scripture never becomes your testimony. To this day, I still look to leadership for direction. (We all want someone to look up to no matter how old we are.) When I can’t find what I am looking for, I go to God’s Word where I have found myself relating to a few of the leaders in it. It is from their stories and what I have experienced in my life that I have learned what to do and what not to do.
Whether or not God uses us to successfully raise up His next generation of generals and Godly leaders, will depend on the condition of our hearts and what we have learned. When He points out His next delegated authority, God wants to know if we can lead with a clean heart and right motives for His Kingdom. A good leader is one who will guide others by being a positive influence. God needs great leaders who lead in love. This requires them to nurture, provide spiritual food, and defend others from the wolves. God told Peter, “Feed my sheep if you love me.” (John 21:17)
When we walk in God’s love it cancels out all of our insecurities, including jealousy and envy. The greatest leaders follow God's lead!
