Power is a complex thing. It releases an ongoing supply of emotions and actions. If not bridled, you will never know what to expect from day to day. Power changes the meekest to the meanest or mightiest. It also influences the minds that are conditioned to flow with the person in power. Those who are weak-minded will act upon their every wish. These people are dedicated and loyal to the vision or visionary for the good and bad.
We will get caught up in self-serving people and purposes when we refuse to acknowledge God and that He is kingdom and corporate. He always has us in mind, never just YOU. Nothing we do in life is for us alone. When we only serve an individual, that mistake takes the glory away from God. If it was all about you and I, God would have fixed all of our situations and then taken us home to glory a long time ago. Therefore, we need to know what we bring to the table of influence to help make this a better world to live in.
As leaders, it starts in our homes, Churches, neighborhoods, jobs, cities, and spreads on from there. And yes, one can make a difference globally if that is the call on your life! If you are trusted with power, be sure to ask God how to use it for His Glory and to lead people correctly.
