Give Them Some Jesus Joy

McKnightEnterprises.org

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. (Acts 3:1-6)

In the Book of Acts, we read that Peter and John went to the Temple to pray. As they were entering a gate a man cried out for alms … handouts for himself. This man could have been the man who was sitting by the pool. (John 5) As the beggar called out to Peter and John, Peter saw him and said, “Look on us.” Peter saw the man just as Jesus saw the man by the pool earlier. Jesus said to the disciples, "These works and greater works than these shall you do because I am going to the Father." He was giving us examples of how to heal the people. Peter used Jesus' example and said, “Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, give I unto you. In the Name of Jesus, rise and be healed.” Peter said this is what Jesus gave me to use to help you, to get you up, to free you … His power. Now get up! Get out of that situation, let go of the bitterness, don’t stay stuck, you can walk if you want to. That man got up leaping and praising God! The others saw the man and got excited with him and in their excitement, they didn’t know that they got free, too! Joy is transferrable!

Grab somebody by the hand and don't give them a chance to refuse to be healed and filled with Joy!

Make somebody's day today!
