Layers of Betrayal

McKnightEnterprises.org

Cover ups … what bad can possibly happen from covering something not meant to happen. Even if you try to keep it a secret and take it to the grave, it may still speak from the grave. That little white lie may never die. You may think what does a little white lie hurt? Depends if that lie betrays one’s loyalty and truth. Loyalty is love. Loyalty covers but sometimes to the point of destruction. Loyalty builds trust but ‘loyal lies’ cause destruction.

Let’s look at two of the many women in King David’s life. A wife, Bathsheba, and his daughter, Tamar. Bathsheba gets plenty of mentions throughout his life, while Tamar fades quietly into the backdrop. We have to start with the foundation of the seed sower in this story … David. Looking at the issues of betrayal Bathsheba and Tamar faced, it seems the issues started with David … or did they? Issues that affect generations run at least three generations deep, and cause layers of betrayal. The choices you make today affect your tomorrows … your children’s tomorrows and their children’s tomorrows.

Since the men were here first and are part of the solution, we must help the brothers out!
