Leadership on Earth
In the Bible, the kings were anointed for a position with purpose. We looked into the lives of the three kings (Saul, David, and Solomon) who were ordained to lead the united Church. We watched each one of their lives go from glory to gory, learning from their mistakes or achievements that brought great success during their reign. In the end, they were still not the Ultimate Kingly covering for God's people. No earthly man had the capacity to carry such a commitment.
So, God wrapped Himself up in an earth suit and through His Son, what God needed for true leadership showed up. Jesus was touched by our infirmities, tempted as we are, yet without sin He fulfilled His call. He released power to heal the broken hearted, and set at liberty those who were bound … mind, body, and spirit.
In the Book of Luke, Jesus proclaimed as the Prophet Isaiah did earlier, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me … He has anointed me.” If God has anointed or appointed you to a leadership position, keep in mind who you represent.
Leaders must understand the responsibility and authority God has placed in their hands as they care for His sheep. When that authority is misused, it produces wounded people. When leadership haphazardly uses God’s Word as their authority, or their position to control or abuse God’s people, there will be casualties!
Many people have come to the House of God looking for healing, but instead were violated by someone in authority. Some came to Church broken and at their end looking for answers, and were disappointed by those in authority who abused the vulnerable seeker
Through Jesus' examples, we were taught how to help and help mankind on earth. Never being or replacing Him, but being the hands of God on earth. I often ask myself before making a move, "What would Jesus Do?" Best Leader ever!
