No Mask Needed

We create and wear masks to become who we believe others want us to be, or who we want to be to others. Instead of being ourselves, we carefully construct a mask … a false identity not authentically ours. Perhaps the desire to fit in and look better in front of others, is the catalyst for concealing and covering up.
We can create masks to hide insecurities, usually self-perceived blemishes in appearance or character. Often, these masks result from childhood trauma or even adulthood trauma. We find ways of self-protection.
We create our mask as a covering to conceal, shield, or camouflage many things. We create masks to hide behind, and put them on to cover up what we do not want others to see. We do not want others to see our negative aspects, only the positive ones that others desire us to be. We have conformed to the misconception that becoming what others want us to be will bring acceptance and harmony. The issue here, though, is that there will come a time when your masked self will appear in your place, and the real you will be nowhere to be seen.
People wear masks to hide something they do not want others to see. Whether it's insecurities, fear, or something else … masks prevent exposure in that area. The mask provides a false sense of security worn to protect from feeling vulnerable, weak, or insufficient. We cannot hide from God. He sees us as we are. He loves us and sees no flaws.
Trust HIM TO HEAL WHAT YOU ARE HIDING.
