How much oil do you have or need to have in your role in this new season? Things are shifting and changing. People are being encouraged to ‘store up’ on supplies needed to survive what is going on in this world. We don't only need food and water, but wisdom and strategies to thrive beyond what is going on now. The Word of God expresses the value of keeping oil in your possession. You must have oil … it is essential.
Olive oil was the main essential ingredient in the anointing oil along with other spices, back in the days of old. Oil was used for many purposes in those days. It was used for lamps, to cook food, to anoint people and things (skins), medicines, personal grooming, perfumes, and such. It was used also when burying people. If you had an abundance of oil, you were considered wealthy because it was a commodity needed by all. Oil was also symbolic of wisdom, wealth, and the Holy Spirit.
How we get the olive oil has to be looked at, for here is a price the tree pays to grow. Olive trees are usually found in rocky areas. So, that thought alone, lets you know this essential ingredient can grow in isolated areas. It is not found by rivers of water, but in dry places. I wonder how deep their roots must be to reach water and grow among the rocks. They are developed in hard places, mostly in Israel. They survive the harshest weather conditions. Hear this by the Spirit. The valuable oil you need was, and will be, costly to obtain in dry, stormy, hot, hard places, and spaces.
I'd love to spend some of your PTO, Personal Time Off and PTO Pour the Oil, teachings of God. Be sure to check in for upcoming series classes and teachings on who and why He anoints certain people.
