Seeds Don’t Just Go Away, They Grow

McKnightEnterprises.org

Sometimes people suffer unjustly for the sin of someone who abused their power. Sometimes just being associated with or connected to them will cause you unwanted attention or blame. Their refusal to obey the rules has sucked you into their crisis, into their chaotic world. If we repent and turn away from unrighteousness, God will forgive us, but sometimes the seed still remains. If you are warned time and time again and you do nothing, the seed takes root. On the surface, everything looks fine, but the root will spring this unwanted seed up again. Covering it with dirt only matures it.

So, what happens when a child is born from an affair? What happens when the rent isn't paid and you lose your home? There are consequences to our sin, which is nothing but disobedience to what God put in place for our lives. His laws are to help and protect us. They are not trapping or temptations from or of God. He knows you. He doesn't need to trap you. The accuser is Satan wanting to trip you up before God and man. Then when your seeds spring up, he wants to call you out and show God you are unfaithful. Examine your roots, be sure they have the fruit you want to remain, and bring a great harvest for God. Own your mistakes, and ask for guidance to never reproduce bad fruit. Be that tree planted by living waters whose fruit doesn't wither and whatever you do prospers!
