Like shepherds, leaders have flocks. Leaders are simply influencers. Sheep are those needing help and direction.
God had to isolate Moses in the desert while he was tending sheep to teach him His plan versus Pharaoh’s Plan. God had to show Moses He is the great "I AM" and Pharaoh was not God. He had to be removed so God could remove his allegiance to Pharaoh and gave Moses his own rod of authority.
What or where has God pulled you out of? What is your rod or staff you will use to help gather the sheep? Whatever it is, be prepared to go get others. As Jesus instructed Peter, He said, 'When you are recovered, strengthen your brothers.” Now, God has re-trained you to prepare you for what He assigned you to do. In each leg of our journey, in the hills or a valley, there is always a lesson. We will be able to see God’s faithfulness while moving past what is testing our faith. During these times, we all go through a process of illumination that leads to elimination. This is when we find out what we do and do not need.
God illuminates our gift with His Light to reveal what we are working with. He shows us our rod of authority and the measure He has given to rule. His Word lights up our pathway and the rod is used to move us forward. Therefore, use what God has put in your hands and work it to give Him glory, while walking in the authority He has given you!
