Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2)
To prosper is to do well and move forward in your journey, but most people use this verse when talking about prosperity and finances only. In Greek it means: to be able to do well in life and have good success. This is not referring to just the material. We have plenty of messages about our new houses, cars, jobs, and so on, but what about the recovery of our mind and soul?
When you find yourself down and out because of words that have left you wounded, you must get God’s Word in you to get back up again. Only His Word can restore you from all the mental or physical abuse you have suffered. You have got to get your mind, body, and soul healed and restored. That is why the Apostle John said, “Even as your soul prospers.” You cannot operate with a wounded soul or it will produce after its own kind. That is a law! Whatever the seed is, so the fruit will be.
Operating out of a wounded soul will allow dysfunction to continue. Whether in a family, church, ministry, or place of business the head must be realigned because the body follows the leader. You, as the head of the household, vision, or company will need to make decisions in a productive manner. The mind needs to be healed because it houses our thoughts which trigger our emotions within our soul. This can be done with God’s help. He restores our soul and puts back everything the way He created it to be, so that we can move forward victoriously.
God is restoring the soul by healing what is hurting from the inside.
