We Three Kings

McKnightEnterprises.org

There have been many debates on whether to call the Christmas tree a Holiday tree in order to be politically correct. America has already removed Christ from most schools and workplaces and, sad to say, even some churches. Man keeps trying to change God’s laws to fit man’s definition of what they believe to be correct. Now, take a moment to look at what is happening in those places where Christ has been removed. We must be careful not to end up in a spiritual drought or famine. Yes, wealth, blessings, and prosperity are great to have but we cannot afford to go spiritually bankrupt thinking God is in the riches.

Let’s look at the leadership and laws God established as the authority over His people using the lives of King Solomon, King David, and King Saul. These three kings were the only three kings who ruled over Israel. What lessons can we learn from these three kings to help us correctly govern God’s people? Three kings came to the nativity and brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. King Solomon’s life was symbolic of gold. King David’s life was symbolic of frankincense. King Saul’s life was symbolic of myrrh. How prophetic that the three kings brought their gifts to Jesus, the Original King of Kings. They came and bowed in reverence that He should rightfully take His throne and place on earth.

As we enter this season and look at We Three Kings in the spirit of Christmas, let us be sure to bring our own personal gifts to give to King Jesus as an act of worship. Let us not allow anyone or anything else to take Christ out of the season of Christmas.
