Your Pain Can Heal You

How many people are in need of healing but don't feel any pain? It isn't until someone touches a spot and they yell out … ouch! We cover injuries with bandages and painkillers and think they are good.
We won't admit anything is wrong. For those who don’t have the tolerance for pain, they take drugs, and medicate the situation to keep it subdued until it worsens. Then there is an emergency situation created where they now have to call 911! They had their chance to take care of the problem before it got out of hand. Now the doctor has to do whatever it will take to save their life because they refused to let the doctor help them while the situation was in its infancy stage.
There are lessons in everything we go through. Our job is to get the lesson and then pass the test. There were reasons for the pain and sufferings even though we may not have understood it then. God knew whoever caused you pain that someone had caused them pain, and it would take God to break the cycle. Someone had to blow the whistle on the devil. God doesn’t want us to hide and dance around our past, but the world does. God knows if He heals one, that grateful one will reach back to free others. Even though God already knows the purpose of the pain, He says "Tell me, and I will do something about it."
It’s like having a bad tooth. You can feel the annoying pain, but you keep taking pain pills in order to ease it so you can keep up with the flow of life. Clearly there is a cavity, but you choose to ignore it because you hate the dentist and know he is going to cause you more pain. So, you avoid it until it begins to crack and ends up breaking off. Then you get an infection and now you have to call the dentist after hours for an emergency extraction. While you were trying to avoid the pain, you ran right into it. Deal with what is causing the pain from the start. The healing will hurt, but it will be worth it in the long run if you endure the process. Other things may be uncovered to reveal what is happening to you, but you have to be able to bear the truth to get your healing. You may discover you have been doing things wrong and that’s what’s causing the pain and why you’re not able to move on to wholeness. You will have to let go of those negative thoughts concerning your childhood memories, and past situations that are making you bitter and preventing you from getting better.
God loves you in spite of yourself. All of the ugly things about your life are exposed to Him and He is still there for you. God’s unconditional love and grace is a healing balm. Many people cannot face their painful memories and suffer inevitable emotional trauma. They need the power of the Holy Spirit and the gift of faith to be able to face the past, thus freeing themselves to live fully in the present and the future. When He touches you, it can be healed and no longer painful.
